WR Endowment Grant Gives 5th Graders Increased Opportunity to Engage with Technology
students using technology

Thanks to the Western Reserve Endowment Grant, fifth-grade students in Mrs. Schrader’s classroom have been able to enjoy a new way of learning. For the past two years, the endowment grant has awarded Mrs. Schrader with new technology tools for the classroom. The students are engaged and love being able to interact with their learning through the use of Osmo Learning Systems and podcasting materials. Last year, Mrs. Schrader was awarded five Kindle FireTablets and Osmo Learning Systems. Unfortunately, students were unable to use the tablets and Osmo kits last school year due to the pandemic. This year, the students have loved using these materials for intervention and application of academic skills.

It is only with the help of the Western Reserve Endowment Grant that Mrs. Schrader is able to provide her students with these unique opportunities for learning.

Congratulations Mrs. Wilcox

The Western Reserve community would like to wish Mrs. Pat Wilcox a happy retirement. Mrs. Wilcox has been a beloved member of the Roughrider family for 20 years, teaching Family and Consumer Science courses and advising the district’s FCCLA chapter. Thank you for your service and good luck in your next adventures.

Weight Room Opens to Community Members

At the last regular board of education meeting, our board approved the reopening of the WR weight room to community members!

Key Fobs will not reinstate for use at this time.

Instead, we have a community member, Brian Drossman, approved to open and monitor the weight room during specific hours for community members. The community hours will be from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning on March 23, 2021! Individuals who choose to use these times will be required to follow ODH COVID-19 protocols and guidelines (i.e., masks, social distancing, frequent cleaning of high touch areas, etc.).

Please perform a health self-assessment prior to arriving. If you are having symptoms that may be related to COVID-19, please stay home. We will have a sign-in sheet to monitor who is using these times hanging at the entrance to the facility.

If you have any questions, please contact our Athletic Director Mr. Falknor.
